The performance of the National stream swimmers in their Combo event was nothing short of amazing. The atletes courage to compete and succeed at this Elite level of swimming is a testement to the heart and soul of the team. The athletes and their coach identified goals for themselves to which they all brought their individual strengths,committment and courage.
In the words of Winston Churchill,
Courage is rightly esteemed the first of human qualities… because it is the quality which guarantees all others.

We, as your parents and community are so very, very proud of each and everyone of you and your achievements.

I just got back from a whirlwind week at The Canadian Nationals Championships in Victoria…and all I can say is WOW!!

First of all I want to say how proud I am of my athletes and their amazing accomplishments!

They made the decision to compete in the Combo team event at the start of the season (A first for all these girls …and a first for me)  The Combo event is one of the highest routine events at the COSSC.

They took on the challenge and the progress they have made as a team has been so wonderful…and it has been such an incredible journey to be a part of!

I am so proud of how these girls represented our club!!

 

A big thank you to all my National parents who came and supported us while we were there…your encouragement is always appreciated.

And also a special thanks to everyone who was able to come down and cheer our girls on…you have no idea how much this meant to both the girls and myself!

I’m sure you were all blown away by the elite level of competition this weekend!!

 

It was a wonderful event with lots of great memories…and new motivation  for next season!!  J J

It is a busy and exciting time in the synchro world with the meet last Sunday and upcoming National meet for the National Swimmers in early May.

 

The girls swam really well on Sunday, at the meet,  and it was exciting to watch them swim their routines do their figures .  Thank you to all the parents who  volunteered their time helping make the meet run smoothly.  Thank you to the coaches as well who have worked hard all year getting the girls ready for the meets – your work and dedication really shows.

The executive would like to extend its congratulations to all the girls and their thanks to all the parents and coaches for a wonderful meet on Sunday.

Westerns brought  high level competition that we contributed to and aspire to. Winnipeg also brought us snow. Snow appears to be our good luck charm.  “Snowflakes are one of nature’s most fragile things, but just look at what they can do when they stick together.”
Our National Stream Athletes and are to be congratulated for these outstanding results:
13-15 Figures Mackenzie Hollett 40th. 16-18 Figures Robyn Bartle 6th 16-18 Figures Tianna Greenhill 12th; Senior placing Tainna Greenhill 1st.
Mackenzie swam a beautiful solo and placed 9th. The combo team placed third and received a Bronze metal.
Brenda and all of the athletes were very proud of their individual and collective results and are looking forward to Nationals. Congratulations! Go Diamonds!
                                                                   ” Own it “  “Live it” “Love it”.
The entire team was grateful to finish their western competition on such an impressive “high” as this is the last time this competition will be held in this format.

Summer Synchro is Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:00 – 6:30 at Beban pool from June 12 – August 9 – we are taking registration now –

Swimmers work on stroke development and synchro specific skills – will perform a choreographed routine to music at the end of the program.  Swimmers must have swim kids 4 and be comfortable in deep water.

Our National Team swimmers were competing at their Provincial Championships, the second meet on their path to Nationals. Next up will be Western Canadians in Winnipeg. Our swimmers swam strong and earned outstanding marks and results.

Of special note were Robyn Bartle with a Gold medal in 16-18 figures and Tianna Greenhill with Silver.  MacKenzie Hollett with a Silver Medal in 13-15 figures and Bronze Medal for 13-15 Solo

And to Emily Miller who was in the top 13 for BC athletes who received AAP Funding…congrats Emily!

And our Combo team with a silver medal. All our girls I believe reached some personal bests, I’m very proud of their accomplishments, and I’m excited for our next step on our journey to Nationals.

 

On the Provincial Level our 3 teams are showing huge potential in their respective event categories. I personally received some very good feedback about our young athletes. I’m sure we will see big results for these girls at their provincial meet.

Great job to all our Athletes!!

 

Thanks also go out to all our families who were there to help and support or club and its athletes, great team work all around!!

 

Up next…Provincial Regional and Development meet in Victoria and Western Canadians in Winnipeg….GO NANAIMO!!!!

Excitability and nerves were definitely in the air today as our teams took to the water at our first MINI MEET of the year.

Our athletes took to their challenges and the competition went smoothly. GOOD LUCK to all who participated.

The group Routines were a smash as always!  Unbelievable graciousness in the water and outstanding sportsmanship on the sidelines. Well done!

A big thank you to the Officials: Debbie Provencher, Adrienne Provencher, Christine Miller, Sharon Devana, Paige Manns, and Emily Trenchard.

And of course we cannot forget our Coaches. Thank You Again.

The athletes had amazing results  individually and as a team.
In the 16-18 figure event Robyn Bartle recieved a Gold medal and Tianna Greenhill a Silver medal.  MacKenzie Hollett  a Silver Medal in 13-15 figures and Bronze Medal for 13-15 Solo.
Our Combo team received  a silver medal to match their new headpieces that were ready for this Provincial competition..
The three teams competeing at the Provincial level showed strength and tenacity and placed well in their team catagories.
